Job Qualifications
Applicants shall be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license, and have attained a High School diploma or equivalent.
Decisiveness, patience, and stamina to chase after, lift, or carry children.
Record of immunizations and ability to pass a background check.
Exceptional communication, teaching, and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of stages of childhood development.
Attentiveness to the needs and safety of children. 

Job Description

The Daycare Teacher shall be responsible for creating a safe space and an affirming atmosphere for each child under their care.  The Faith Daycare is a place where Jesus is honored, children are safe and nurtured, and parents are comfortable and informed.  The Daycare worker shall work with the director to establish and work towards appropriate goals for each child, facilitate an open and positive relationship with parents, comply with all regulations, procedures, and policies, and be responsible for the safety and cleanliness of their assigned room.   

Job Duties

The job duties for the Daycare Worker include but are not limited to: 

  • Observing and monitoring children's play activities.
  • Providing care for children, such as setting schedules and routines, grooming, feeding, changing diapers, and cleaning rooms and toys.
  • Keeping records on individual children, including daily observations and information about activities, meals served, and medications administered.
  • Developing and encouraging age-appropriate learning and socialization to ensure children learn basic skills and concepts, such as communication, manners, sharing, etc.
  • Maintaining a safe workplace by monitoring children for health, behavioral, and emotional issues and reporting concerns to staff and parents.
  • Helping children discover new interests by introducing them to art, music, sports, and other potential hobbies.
  • Ensuring children are learning positive behaviors and providing guidance or approved discipline, as needed.
  • Preparing children to enter the next level of care or for entry into school.
  • Keeping classroom, furniture, and toys clean.  Organizing and storing toys and materials to ensure order in activity areas.​

Faith Daycare Update:

We have very exciting news!  We have hired a director for Faith Daycare.  Kaitlynn Crowl has accepted the position and brings a strong education and experience background.  Kaitlynn has a Bachelors in Early Childhood Development from The Ohio State University and is coming to us from Head Start in Mansfield.  Kaitlynn is starting immediately to take the lead in facilitating our licensing and transition readiness for June 3rd.  Welcome Kaitlynn!

But the exciting news doesn’t end there!  We have also hired Hannah Hostetler as a lead teacher for Faith Daycare and with some dual responsibilities as Children’s Ministry Coordinator for Faith UMC.  Hannah has an Associates in Early Childhood Development and a Bachelors in Children’s Ministry from Ohio Christian University and is coming to us from New Hope Christian Academy in Circleville.  Hannah will begin her duties on May 28th.  Welcome Hannah!

We also want to let you know that applications to Faith Daycare will be available to the current enrollees of JC Kids beginning Monday, May 6th.  Families currently enrolled will have first availability to enrollment with us.  Those applications must be received by 2:00 PM on Monday, may 13th to receive priority.  On Tuesday, May 14th applications will be made available to the general public.
